Dong Quai Major Actions:
Female tonic, laxative (mild), blood building, analgesic
Dong Quai Major Indications:
– Relief of dysmenorrhoea (painful periods)
– Supports normal menstruation.
– Fatigue with pallor.
– Relief of constipation.
– Relief of arthritic pain.
Dong Quai Contraindications and Cautions:
Contraindicated in severe menorrhagia. Caution in patients with diarrhoea and during pregnancy, especially in the first trimester. Professional supervision is suggested for lactation. Discontinue 7 days prior to general anaesthesia.
Dong Quai Dosage and Administration:
4-8.5ml a day
